Ingredients

  • 3 chicken breasts
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp black pepper powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 4 tbsp grated parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 small chopped onion
  • 7-8 garlic cloves
  • 1 tbsp chopped garlic
  • 1 tbsp parsley
  • 1 cup cream
  • 1½ cup chicken broth or stock

Method

Step 1

Take 3 chicken breasts in a plate and season them with ½ tsp salt, 1 tsp black pepper powder and 1 tsp garlic powder. Season both sides of chicken breasts and keep them aside.

Step 2

Add 2 tbsp all purpose flour and 1 tbsp grated parmesan cheese in a mixing bowl and mix well. Add seasoned chicken in a mixing bowl and coat it well with the flour mixture. Shake off extra flour.

Step 3

In a pan, add 2 tbsp olive oil and 1 tbsp butter. Keep heat on medium high. Add chicken breasts in the pan once butter melts. Cook chicken about 7-8 min to each side. Once chicken turns golden brown in color, remove it in a plate from the pan and set aside.

Step 4

In the same pan, add 1 tbsp butter. Add 1 small chopped onion in the pan and sauté for 2-3 min on medium heat. Add 1 tbsp chopped garlic and 7-8 smashed garlic cloves, Sauté for a 1-2 min.

Step 5

Add chicken broth in the pan and keep stirring. Let it simmer for 5 min on medium heat.

Step 6

Add 3 tbsp grated parmesan cheese in broth. Turn heat on medium low and cook until cheese melts. Keep stirring occasionally. Add 1 cup heavy cream and mix well. Let sauce simmer for 2-3 min.

Step 7

Put chicken pieces back into the pan. Pour sauce on top of chicken breast. Sprinkle pinch of black pepper powder. Cook until sauce thickens.

Garnish with freshly chopped parsley. Serve hot.

Tips:

  • Cooking time for chicken breast can change depending on its thickness.
  • You can slice chicken breast into two parts. It will reduce the cooking time. Also, you can flatten the chicken breasts with kitchen mallet or rolling pin to reduce cooking time.
  • If sauce gets too thick, add some milk to make it thin.
  • You can chicken thighs instead of chicken breasts if you prefer. Make sure to remove bones when using thighs. It may take more time to cook with thighs.
  • You can serve creamy garlic chicken breast with mashed potatoes or garlic green beans as side dishes.
