Ingredients

  • 1 kg carrot
  • 200 gm sugar
  • 1 glass milk
  • 3 tbsp ghee
  • 50 gm cashew
  • 50 gm almonds

Method

Step 1

Wash and clean the carrots. Then, peel and grate them.

Step 2

Add 3 tbsp ghee in kadai. Once ghee is melted add grated carrots in it and mix well in ghee. Keep heat on medium. Stir often and let grated carrots cook for 10 min.

Step 3

Add 1 glass of milk and stir again to mix it well. Once milk is thickened a bit, add 200 gm sugar and stir well. Mix sugar well with halwa, let sugar dissolve and thicken.

Step 4

Add chopped Cashews and almonds in halwa. Stir occasionally. Cook until liquid evaporates and halwa thickens.

Serve gajar halwa hot or chilled as per your preference.
