Ingredients
- 750 gm chicken
- 1½ tsp kashmiri red chilli powder
- ½ tsp turmeric powder
- ½ tsp cumin powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1 bowl fried onion
- 1 tbsp curry powder
- 1 tbsp kasuri methi
- 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 chopped tomato
- 4 tbsp curd
- 1 tbsp ghee
- 4 green chillies
- mint leaves
Method
Step 1
Take 750 gm chicken in a mixing bowl. Add 1½ tsp kashmiri red chilli powder, ½ tsp turmeric powder, 1 tsp coriander powder, 1½ tsp cumin powder, 1 tbsp curry powder, 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste, 1 tsp salt, 1 chopped tomato, 1 bowl of fried onions, 3 tbsp oil, 1 tbsp ghee (clarified butter) and 4 tbsp curd in chicken. Mix chicken well and coat all the chicken pieces with all spices.
Step 2
Add mints leaves, chopped green coriander and 1 tbsp kasuri methi (fenugreek leaves) and mix well. Let chicken marinate for at least half an hour.
Step 3
Put marinated chicken in a kadai. Add 1 tbsp oil and ½ tbsp ghee in it.
Step 4
Now, make a dough of flour and stick it to the edges of the kadai lid. Cover the lid and stick dough well to the kadai. Keep heat on medium and let chicken cook for 15 min. Turn heat on low and let chicken cook for another 5 min.
Step 5
Turn off the heat and don’t open the lid for next 2-3 min.
Serve hot dum chicken with rice or chapati.
